Unit 2 Autumn Term Overview

Cricket Tournament

Children from Key Stage 2 took part in the South Hub cricket tournament held at Blackpool school. The two teams performed brilliantly and were a real credit to Gatehouse. One of our teams finished in fourth place and the other won a closely contested final by 5 runs! Well done to all of the children that took part.

Unit 2 Science Trip to Dawlish Warren

Unit 2 had a great day out at Dawlish Warren. With the support and expertise of three rangers, we explored three different habitats. We discovered a wide range of organisms and thoroughly enjoyed our time on the beach. The visit links in with the science topic 'Living things and their habitats' which we will focus on later this term.

Year 3 & 4 Residential Trip to Heatree
Children from Unit 2 had a fantastic time at Heatree. They battled the elements and soggy conditions under foot, whilst taking part in a variety of activities. The 'low adventure' assault course proved a real hit with everyone; as evidenced by their extremely muddy faces! Well done to all of the children for their exemplary behaviour and their 'have a go' approach.
