Bikeability - Year 6

17th May 2017

Dear Parents/Carers of Y6 pupils,

Bikeability Update

Next week is Bikeability week for Y6 pupils! We have been lucky enough to secure 3 instructors which means that all the children who have sent back their consent forms will be able to take part. This is excellent news and will make a vast difference to the children’s awareness of road safety.

Just a few reminders to ensure that the week runs smoothly for everyone;

  • The children need to bring their bikes and helmets into school each day (they can leave bikes overnight in the shed if you wish, but please ensure they are padlocked).

  • Bicycles must be in a roadworthy condition (see previous letters or the website for a Bicycle Checklist) and a helmet must be worn.

  • Children need a light waterproof coat and/or sun block, depending on the weather.

  • Children must wear their school uniform on the top half but may wear comfortable clothing on the bottom half – light, track-suit bottoms are preferable.

If your child has requested the loan of a bicycle then please send £10.00 in an envelope, labelled with your child’s name, class and clearly labelled ‘Bikeability’.

Should you have any questions or queries regarding next week, please do not hesitate to contact either Mrs Ames or Mrs Shanahan. Keep your fingers crossed for lovely weather!

Kind regards

Claire Shanahan & Chris Ames.
