9th May 2016

29th  April 2016

Dear Parent/Carer,

We are writing to give you an update on the forthcoming Y6 SATs.

The SATs take place during the week beginning 9th May.  This is a very important week and, as far as possible, please ensure that your child attends every day.  The timetable is outlined below:

Monday 9th May

Reading Paper

Tuesday 10th May

Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar Paper

Wednesday 11th May

Maths Arithmetic Paper 1

Maths Reasoning Paper 2

Thursday 12th May

Maths Reasoning  Paper 3

In addition we have sent home a copy of the leaflet produced by the Department For Education, which provides extra information about these tests.

During this week, we will be holding a breakfast club where we will provide bacon or sausage baps and a drink to start the day.  This is free of charge and will run between 8.15 am to 8.30 am.  Vegetarians can be catered for as long as we know! We will be checking the day before if children are coming to breakfast club the next morning.

We encourage you to send your child to this breakfast club from Monday to Thursday as it will help settle and prepare the children for the tests that day.  If you have any concerns, please come and speak to Mrs Shanahan or Mr Harman.

Following the SATs there will be lots of exciting activities for the children including Bikeability, Y6 Apprentice Challenge and the Summer Production. We will send out more information about each of these soon.

Yours faithfully

Claire Shanahan

Deputy Head
