Year 2/3 - Kenya Class

Class Teacher: Miss Lauren Crichard

Homework:

Homework will continue to be given out on a Wednesday and will be due in on the following Monday. In addition to this, on a Monday, we will be informing you of the spellings we are learning in phonics so children can practice these alongside reading at home.

We do appreciate that some children have clubs and other commitments outside of school, and would ask if they could try to arrange their time to best suit them in order to complete tasks.  If this becomes an issue please let your child’s teacher know.

Snacks and water bottles:

We always encourage children to drink water throughout the day to avoid dehydration and to support concentration.  They can bring a bottle with their name on to school and this can be re-filled throughout the day.  It is important that this is water.  Research has shown that this is the best way of improving concentration. We do now also have water taps in school which the children can use at break and lunch times.

Fruit is provided for children during break time. If you would like to provide a healthy alternative then this is also acceptable.

Children will need:

  • Reading book and Journal in school every day
  • P.E. kits to be kept in school. Black/white shorts and a white T-shirt and trainers. Tracksuit bottoms for outside PE when the weather is very cold. These are sent home at half term for washing.
  • Daily fruit or vegetable snack.
  • Suitable coats and shoes for the weather, we will be outside as much as possible!

Useful Information

Your child’s teacher is more than happy for you to pop in and see them if you have any concerns or queries. They will usually be available before the school day or at the end of the day.
