As I am sure you are all aware the continuing changing in government guidance with regards to Covid-19 can be quite overwhelming and confusing. As we move into the autumn and winter, both children and adults will pick up more common bugs and this will make it even more of a challenge to distinguish what might be Covid-19 Symptoms and what might be a common cold or a throat infection.
The main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are:
- a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
- a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
- a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
Most people with Coronavirus have at least one of these symptoms. If you or your child has one or more of these symptoms you need to self isolate and book a test.
The attached document explains the different scenarios that you might be in, in the coming months, it will be updated if the advice changes.
