Impetigo

We have reported cases of impetigo in school presently.  It is a bacterial skin infection.

It can start with red sores or blisters, that can start anywhere and they quickly burst.

Impetigo commonly affects the face, particularly around the nose and mouth, usually exposed areas.

Infectious period is when the lesions are wet and pus is present.

It is advised that children return to school after the lesions are crusted or healed.

Please make sure all lesions are covered.
