Dear Parent/ Carer
I am writing to briefly update on the current situation with school opening. Today, the Government has confirmed that our schools will remain closed to most pupils after half term. They have confirmed that pupils will not go back to school before 8th March. At this stage, the Government has not confirmed an actual re-opening date, so please keep in the back of your mind the possibility we may remain closed after this date. During the closure period, all pupils working at home will continue to be able to access our extensive remote learning offer. We have been very grateful for the feedback from many of you about the home learning. We know that some of you are finding it hard to keep children motivated. Others would like more work; many would like less work. We all have different challenges and we will do our best to offer enough. I have asked staff to review what we are sending home. Collectively, we want to make sure we are getting it right for the pupils, but also keep it manageable for staff and parents alike. Home learning is a challenge for all of us. It is not what we normally do and none of us are experts in it. If you need any help or assistance, please do ask your child’s teacher for help. All of us are looking forward to getting back to normal. Until then, we need to work in partnership to do our best. A reminder that we do remain open to the children of key workers. Current guidance remains – if you can keep your child at home, then do so. However, if you are a key worker and need your children to come into school, we will continue to offer this provision until we are able to welcome back all pupils. Your continued help and support are really appreciated by us all. Thank you. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with your child’s school if you need any help or advice.
Yours sincerely, Paul Walker First Federation Trust
