Things to Do in Dawlish
If you’re looking for a great coastal town for a traditional seaside holiday then Dawlish is the answer. With sandy beaches, family attractions, amusements, walks, cycle routes, mini golf and relaxing gardens there’s lots to see and plenty of things to do in Dawlish and Dawlish Warren.
The traditional seaside town of Dawlish, with its early Victorian and classic Regency style, has long be a popular holiday and day trip destination. Whether you’re visiting with friends or family or fancy a trip away with a loved one Dawlish has an exciting mix of attractions, places to eat and drink and things to do both in town and nearby.
Its location close to other seaside resorts, the River Exe, the city of Exeter and wonderful countryside makes it not only perfect for a great beach break but for enjoying everything else this incredible region has to offer.
While in Dawlish don’t forget to visit the Town Brook and see if you can spot the famous Black Swans, they can often be seen swimming in the gentle stream or nesting on the banks.
For help and advice when visiting the town pop by the Tourist Information Centre, located in the centre of town on The Lawn, the friendly staff are happy to offer advice and information on any aspect of your holiday.
To the North East of Dawlish is the seaside resort of Dawlish Warren with its long blue flag beach, sand dunes, amusements and nature reserve. Dawlish Warren can be reached by road, train or by walking along the South West Coast Path. The coastal path hugs the red cliffs as it follows the train line along the coast, providing fantastic views out to sea as you walk between the two resorts.
On behalf on Girlguiding Dawlish and Starcross, we would like to let you know that they will have spaces available at 1st Dawlish Rainbows in September. (They meet on a Monday evening.) Dear all the staff and pupils at Gatehouse Primary Academy, Please accept this letter as a heart-felt thank you for the kindness, commitment and generosity shown by Gatehouse Primary Academy in sharing some festive joy with our seafarers working on board this Christmas season. I understand how much time, effort and thought went in to making this happen for our seafarers, which is hugely appreciated, the generosity of the local community has really touched those currently on board. The cards, letters, kind thoughts and well wishes have certainly added some extra sparkle to the spirit currently on board, whilst our crew are eagerly awaiting the return of our guests and of course getting back to delivering special holiday moments, for now they will enjoy the festive season with all the trimmings, usual celebrations and of course your kind donations. So once again a huge thank you to each and every one of you for this lovely gesture. Wishing you all the very best for a prosperous 2021 and a Merry Christmas!
Best wishes on behalf of myself and all of our ship’s company, Daniel Yeates Fleet
Congratulations ! Jake the winner of this amazing competition.

Dear parents and carers,
Helping Dawlish are arranging Christmas hampers (A Hug in a Bag) for families or individuals facing a lean Christmas due to reduced household income on furlough, redundancy or social isolation. If you would like one of these, please contact the school by the end of next week and we will help to organise this.
Helping Dawlish need your help to spread some Christmas Cheer to individuals & families in Dawlish who would benefit from a Christmas Card this year to brighten their spirits! If you'd like to support your local community by getting creative and igniting some Christmas Magic, please help us by designing your own Christmas Cards for us to include inside our hampers.
They can be as creative as you like!
Gel pens, paint, crayons, pencils or print your own design...we would love to share them!
Please hand these into your teachers in time to be collected by Friday 11th December.
