Holiday Activity and Food Programme (HAF)
The HAF came about because of Marcus Rashford’s campaign Marcus Rashford: Food voucher campaign changed government policy - CBBC Newsround. The HAF Programme is funded by the Department for Education and children who are eligible for benefit related Free School Meals (FSM) are given the opportunity to access rewarding activities alongside healthy meals during school holidays, offering valuable support to families on lower incomes.
In response to this programme, Devon Early Years and Childcare Service (DEYCS) delivered an extensive summer programme which was very successful and are now planning the Christmas programme.
