9th May 2022
On the 6th February this year Her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth, having acceded to the throne on 6th February 1952 when she was 25 years old.
Here at Gatehouse we want to celebrate this special occasion by having a Jubliee Picnic on our school field on Thursday 26th May 2022. We would like to invite parents and carers to come and join us for this special lunch. Please bring a picnic blanket, and your own lunch. All younger siblings are welcome to attend. We will be staggering lunches, to enable as many people as possible to attend – please see times below.
Please bring a picnic blanket, and your own lunch. All younger siblings are welcome to attend. We will be staggering lunches, to enable as many people as possible to attend – please see times below. If you have a picnic blanket(s) at home and would like to bring one then please do. If you have a picnic blanket at home, but cannot attend, please send it to school with your child, but please make sure the blanket(s) has your child’s name on so it can be returned to the right family.
We want our school to be decorated for the event, if you wish to help make, or donate some bunting, posters or paper chains that would be amazing! Any items you feel could be dropped into school to make the event special for the children e.g. donations of jubilee items, red, write and blue, napkins, crowns etc. The children will be able to wear non uniform, with a theme of red, white and blue on the day. Crowns and other royal accessories are optional, although welcome.
Please complete this microsoft form to order your child’s lunch for the day: https://forms.office.com/r/VJT7479mDk The menu will be the same as usual however the hot option will be served as a takeaway. Children can also bring in their own packed lunch if they prefer.
