  • Census message

    Tue 09 Jan 2024

    Dear parents and carers

Thursday 16th January is our school census day when the government collect data about our school. This information impacts our next year’s funding and so we would like to ensure Gatehouse is in receipt of the maximum amount possible to futureproof the success of the school and give our children the best possible resources and staffing.

In order to achieve this, we are holding a special lunch for children to enjoy. The menu is attached. All children in KS1 and children eligible for free school meals will have a school dinner prepared for them and the expectation is for your child to try it. Our KS2 children are most welcome to enjoy the school dinner too, please pay via Parentpay.

If your child is in EYFS, Year 1 Year 2, or otherwise eligible for Free School Meals, and you would prefer to opt out of this and provide your child with a packed lunch, please contact the school office.

If you think you may be eligible for free school meals please apply online for an instant decision:

    Please see attached menu.

    Many thanks

  • Design & Technology Textiles in Year 5 and 6

    Wed 22 Nov 2023

    Dear Parents/Carers,

In our Design & Technology Textiles in Year 5 and 6 this half-term, we will be practising our sewing skills. In the last two weeks of term, the children will then be making and decorating Christmas stockings.

If you have any bits of colourful fabric or material with a Christmassy design, we would be extremely grateful if you could send them into school with your child. Perhaps you have material offcuts, old pillowcases or unwanted clothes like t-shirts at home? Pieces of felt, ribbon, pom-poms or brightly coloured thread would also be useful.

    Many thanks for your support.
