  • Covid notifications

    Wed 08 Sep 2021

    Dear parents and carers

If your child tests positive to Covid-19, could we please remind all parents to report the absence as usual and to also provide us with notification of the positive results for our official reporting. If your child tests positive but is otherwise well, we are obliged to provide them with some home learning for the duration of their isolation. If your child begins to display symptoms and is unwell, there is no requirement to complete this learning. If you have any questions, please contact the school office.

    Many thanks,

    Dear parents/carers

We know how disappointed Year 6 are not to be able to take part in the traditional end of Year 6 water fight and the staff at school are also sad not to have the opportunity to say goodbye to all of the children. So, we would like to invite all of Year 6 to a water fight on Wednesday 8th September on the school field from 4.00pm.

We hope to see you then!

    Best wishes

  • Covid Update July 2021

    Fri 16 Jul 2021

    Dear Parents/Carers

I am writing to inform you that, despite the government moving the country to step 4 of the easing of COVID restrictions in England on Monday 19th July, we will not be removing any of the current COVID safety measures in place at Gatehouse for the last week of term. Cases are at the highest they have been since January in Teignbridge and we want to ensure that we minimise the risks of Covid 19 transmission for all of the school community as we go into the summer holidays.

    Kind regards

  • Message to parents from Miss Naylor

    Thu 10 Jun 2021

    Dear parents/carers,

I wanted to make you aware of a new service that is available to support with conducting assessments for children with autism. If you feel your child is showing signs of having autism, or they are already on the waiting list for an autism assessment, but you don't want to wait in the current 2 year long waiting list, this is a service which can help.

You can refer directly to the service, with the support of the school or individually, and they will conduct a fully funded assessment which, if the child meets the criteria, will lead to a diagnosis. The criteria to be eligible for a fully funded place is if your household income is less than £45,000 per year. If your household income is above this, you can still apply however you will not be eligible for a self-funded place. The service is in Keele and you would have to cover the costs of travel to the centre yourselves but it is one of the only places offering this service.

If this is something you are interested in, and you want to discuss it further, please don't hesitate to call the school and I would be happy to answer any further questions.

    Many thanks,

    Miss Naylor
